Peripherals

There are various peripherals which make using a Lying Down Desk much easier. We currently offer several (those in green in the diagram below), with the aim of being able to make it as easy as possible for someone to get everything they need.

Custom Ortholinear Split Keyboard (£174/£189)

This is a UK-made custom ortholinear split keyboard. In our view, this is the best keyboard for using with a Lying Down Desk (read more in our article Typing with a Lying Down Desk). Because of the vertically aligned layout, it’s easier to learn to touch type on than a typical staggered keyboard.

The custom ortholinear split keyboard uses the Cantor layout, and is designed to be comfortable and powerful to use. The base version comes with blank keycaps, the version with lettered keycaps is an additional £15.

For £174 you can receive a fully built and operational keyboard, with a guide and pre-mapped layers to allow you to have full functionality of a normal keyboard, without ever having to move a finger more than 1 key.

Wireless Vertical Mouse (£30)

This is our recommended wireless vertical mouse, with an ergonimic design for reduced strain. The mouse combines a handshake grip with easy-access buttons and three levels of mouse sensitivity.

2m long HDMI/Display Port cable (£8)

This cable allows you to easily connect the monitor for the lying down desk to your laptop

USB Hub (with or without HDMI/Display Port; £16/£35)

Having a keyboard and mouse below as well as on the desk might mean that your USB ports are all full. A multi-port extender allows you to connect all the peripherals that you need through one simple docking station, removing the need to plug things in when changing use modes.

USB port extension cable (£7)

This allows you to extend the USB cable for your chosen keyboard down to the floor with ease.
